Legacy is a blend of several different genres. It’s a family saga, of sorts. It is a mystery; a bit of a thriller; even offers a splash of romance.

It’s also a story of light and dark. A story of choices and finding your place in the world. It’s a story of dedication, commitment, and the love of family. It’s even a story of friendships that span decades. 

But it also is a story of jealousy, bitterness, and hate. A simmering rage that builds very slowly, chapter by chapter throughout the story.

Even if you think you know who it is that is consumed with hate and the ugliness that shows through in this mystery, you’re just not sure. However, Roberts impeccable timing, delivery, and crescendo still manages to deliver that uneasy response that makes this story what it is, the subtle building thriller with that evil lurking just behind the scenes.

Roberts has the unique talent to deliver a story that leaves us with more questions than answers. This is a slow burn novel, not a heart pounding thriller that you may expect. Her unique talent delivers a continual drip of doubt that trickles into her characters life and eats away at her for years. 

Legacy is a complex read that is tempered with a budding romance that eases your mind about what’s going on behind the scenes. This is the type of writing that Roberts is known for and impressively delivers in Legacy. Plus, she still manages to bring us an ending that relaxes us again while we wait for her next surprise novel.
