The Bachelorette Party
The Baltic Vinyasa—an ultra-luxurious, isolated yoga resort hidden away on a tiny island off the coast of Sweden. Could there be a more perfect spot for a group of friends to celebrate an upcoming wedding with the ultimate relaxing bachelorette party?
But this new resort has been built on the site where, ten years ago, four best friends mysteriously disappeared—and more than one of the women returning now has her own secrets, just waiting to be brought into the light.
Tessa, our modern-day protagonist, hosts a podcast that’s in desperate need of redemption following a very public disgrace. The decade-old disappearance of the women known as the Nacka Four sounds like just the ticket. She’s determined to make the most of this opportunity to finally uncover some answers—but as she starts to dig, she finds far more than she ever bargained for.
Intertwining dual timelines is quickly becoming a genre staple, and podcast hosts are popping up more and more frequently. But Camilla Sten masterfully delivers a perfectly balanced mix of intrigue, revelation, and tensely timed action sequences, turning these familiar tropes into something entirely her own. From start to finish, I was pulled in equally by the characters and the story; I wasn’t impatient for the big ending reveal because I was too busy enjoying the journey.
This is the third book I’ve read from this author, and I’m genuinely impressed by her ability to craft stories with so many perfectly balanced moving parts. This is one bachelorette party I’m thrilled to have RSVP’d “yes” to.
